Faithful readers of Bank Gothic Overload: As you might remember from last year, I traveled to Washington state in February 2008 for a fundraising event called the Jimmie Heuga Snow Express for Multiple Sclerosis. Once again, this year my brother Alan and I, along with some people who hail from the Pacific Northwest, are traveling [...]

I’ve had this idea for a vacation (well, this is one idea I have). Fly to Edmonton, see the Oilers play some hockey against the Avalanche. Cruise down to Calgary, see the Avalanche play the Flames. From Calgary, go to a few places. One of those places is to drive 90 minutes west into the [...]

I’m just about to leave for Telluride, the Bluegrass Festival is underway now. We’re leaving here in a few minutes, and I’m tapped to see Darrel Scott and John Cowan tonight at La MontaƱa. I may or may not be updating my blog as we go, but I’ll definitely be updating my Twitter stream and [...]

1. College kids are pretty naive – It was interesting meeting soon-to-be Skidmore graduates in the first part of my trip. I heard these people with some grandiose plans for their future, but this is a tough time for people entering the workforce. I had the misfortune of entering the real world a few months [...]

I’ve been spending a lovely few days in scenic Saratoga Springs, New York and the neighboring area. I had some great (and drunken) times at a bar promotion at The Local (a great new craft beer bar that had Wolaver’s Organic Brown on tap). I’ve seen my buddy Adam’s MFA Art show in Albany, where [...]

There is a bill in Colorado that will charge a $5 toll at the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70. This tunnel runs right through the Continental Divide and is Denver’s link to various ski towns (Vail, Aspen, Breckenridge, etc.). There is a bunch of opposition about it, but I feel that something needs to be done [...]

I’m off to Washington state to “compete” in the Jimmie Heuga Foundation Vertical Express for MS. My team raised almost $2000 for this event and our sister team raised about the same amount. So I’ll be periodically updating my twitter site (to be seen on the sidebar of my blog or at my Twitter site [...]

Denver International Airport has finally added free wireless internet throughout their facility. Way to go, guys. Having to pay for wifi at a place that was paid for by Colorado taxpayers is sort of a sham. Apparently wifi usage has increased 10x with this development. No fucking shit, right? Now getting to the airport really [...]

Okay, here’s a cool thing. These awesome Google Earth layers chart when future total solar eclipses will be, and I completely guarantee that I’ll go see one of these occurrences. Because it looks fucking amazing. The one I’m going to try to check out is on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Easter Island. First, Easter [...]
