Early Adoption saved my ass

If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Macrumors.com reports that Apple’s servers are hosed with the gazillions of people trying to activate new iPhone 3Gs, and existing iPhone users who are downloading the new iPhone system and firmware:
Notice: The server problems extend to users who are […]

Which is better? iPhone system 2.0 apps or jailbroken apps?

Tomorrow is the day of reckoning. The iPhone 2.0 system update is due tomorrow. There are 500 applications at the iTunes store, 160 of which are free to download. If I upgrade my iPhone’s system, however, I’ll most likely lose all my jailbroken applications, including Twinkle. The possibility of a downgrade to the old system […]

Barcode Generator and other cool Mac software

This guy made some cool open-source software, including the barcode generator and Crimson FX (a program for adding light saber effects into quicktime movies). Thanks, guy!

My favorite piece of any iPhone review

The auto-suggest correction system works pretty damn well, considering it hasn’t yet had a chance to learn much about what and how I type. Most impressive touch: it knows the word “fucking”.
Read an in-depth review about it here by John Gruber. A few things I still find troubling abut the iPhone:
1. Bad email support, especially […]

Apple becoming more eco-friendly?

Today Steve Jobs outlined Apple’s future in terms of being more environmentally friendly. I hope that other companies follow suit.

TinyURL Firefox Extension

TinyURL Firefox Extension is a handy little Firefox Add-On. You install it and then you can right click on a page or a link and you can make a TinyURL address. A tiny little pop-up comes up and notifies you that your URL has been created and has been copied to your clipboard. Pretty nice […]

In the 24 universe, I’m happy I live in a cowtown

Don’t worry, no spoilers here. In last night’s 2 hour episode of 24, the CTU analysts use a 15″ MacBook Pro. Same as me. The tactical team looking for a terrorist on an airplane full of terrorists was getting his image data for visual confirmation on a Dell Axim, which is also something I own.
I […]

Colbert’s take on the iPhone

More iPhooey

I’ve just started reading Eric Siry’s Seen and Not Seen Business 2.0 blog recently and I like what he’s got to say, especially what he’s got to say about the iPhone. I certainly am in his camp on this. Until there is real functionality and 3rd party application support, I think I can wait. I’d […]

iPhone needs a good iWarranty

Apple (finally) unveiled their iPhone today. It’s $499 (4GB hard drive) and $599 (8GB hard drive), but you still need to sign up for a 2 year contract with Cingular.
Some features:
2 megapixel camera
iPod functionality (widescreen for movies, too)
phone (obviously)
Safari (pretty rad looking, apparently the most full-featured phone internet browser)
First impressions: Looks decent, but the price […]
