A day trip to Summit Lake, Mount Evans (with photos)
My special ladyfriend and I took a drive up Hwy 103 to Summit Lake, just below the summit of Mount Evans. This road is the highest paved road in North America. Although we weren’t allowed to go to the summit (that section of road closes on Labor Day – yesterday!), it was a really wonderful drive with lots of great shots to be had.
We even saw a herd of about 25 Bighorn Sheep!
On the flipside, we also saw the fire in Fourmile Canyon just outside Boulder, which was sad. Below are some photos, but here’s a link to the whole photoset on flickr.
