PhotoPhlow – FlickrLive 2: Electric Boogaloo?

Check out PhotoPhlow.com is a newly launched site that integrates well with flickr. It’s derived from the old FlickrLive, a flash-based chat area with live picture sharing (which was in turn derived from a web-based game called Game Neverending). Interestingly, the new version has a lot more search capability built in.

A really interested thing just happened – a Flickereeno from California logged in to say he just felt an earthquake. Within minutes you could search for earthquake in the left sidebar area and find various images related to this super-recent event.

You can refresh every time you click the button next to the search bar. You can add photos to your flickr favorites. This is a very cool thing. I can see some very cool applications for this, including a nice way to share artwork with clients who are out of town. Or if you’re in Africa and you want to show your friends the photos you were taking, in real time as you upload them.

August Rush is a movie with a Michael Hedges-esque score

Michael Hedges was an amazing guitar player whose life was cut short by a car accident in 1997. This movie uses music similar to Michael Hedges in the score in the movie August Rush. And his music is fucking amazing.

Read more about the music here. Read more about Michael Hedges and buy his music.
