The Difference Between Intrawest and Vail Resorts

At Vail, when a new ski lift is purchased and built in the Summer, invariably you will have a brand new 4-person chair made by Dopplemayr or Poma. This is a very nice thing for them to do! Quads are fast. At Winter Park, however, they expand by using a 6-man chair (last season) and subsequently on a 3-man slow-as-fuck chair (Eagle Wind Lift servicing the backside of Parsenn bowl). Just pick a nice even number and go with it, Intrawest! Next thing you know, they’ll have a 1-seater that goes from the parking lot to the base, or from the living room to the dining room.

Actually, I think it’s a great thing. I can ski some great terrain in a part of the ski area I already really like skiing in. Just steeper stuff with deeper fluff, we can hope.
