iTV is a stupid name

Apple just announced a new TV compatible device. Not arriving for sale until the first quarter next year, it appears to be everything I ever wanted. It “features USB, ethernet, 802.11 wireless, HDMI, optical audio, and RCA connectors” and will cost $299. I hope it has a built-in DVR to it. I also heard it will have component video cables (is that HDMI?) and would be great so I can dump my existing loud-fanned G4 that’s doing the work for me (very poorly). I also hope that you can use it to view Google Earth and whatnot on your TV screen. And that it is capable of working with High Definition signals (is that HDMI?).

I guess Steve Jobs called it the iTV but said that the name was temporary. Come on, Apple’s Design Agency (Chiat Day again, right?) – get to work! I’d be happy to start coming up with names for your new iDevice.

My suggestions:
iVision
TELiVISION (i thought about iNtellivision, but that was used 20 years ago)
iVee (like Tee Vee and IV put together)
iTube (to capitalize on the YouTube craze)
iTop (like High Top?)
iTele (plus that woud be good with my telemarking prowess)
iHaveNoFriends and iDon’tCareThatI’mFriendless
iPotato (this one is by far my favorite)
